Orchestroll is an interdisciplinary music duo that serves as a crucible for Jesse Osborne-Lanthier and Asaël Richard-Robitaille’s unbridled musical aspirations. It is a space where they challenge the confines of traditional music theory, genre, and classification — where they are free to expand, hybridize, and explore musical terrains beyond conventional boundaries. Beyond Orchestroll, both have built extensive careers as solo artists — respectively as Jesse Osborne-Lanthier and Bataille Solaire — producers, musicians, and collaborators for other artists (Marie Davidson, Essaie Pas, Bernardino Femminielli, Heith). As mainstays of the Montreal and international music scenes and co-founders of Éditions Appærent, they have established a platform dedicated to fostering uncompromising artistic voices, curating releases that challenge convention while remaining deeply engaged with the evolving landscape of sound, performance, and composition.
The duo recently completed a residency at the legendary electronic music studio EMS in Stockholm, where they worked alongside Nicolas Tirabasso (VISIO) and recorded part of their sophomore album "Corrosiv", due May 30th, 2025. In 2024, Orchestroll released "Hyperwide Lustre" on Priori and Adam Feingold’s NAFF sister label Garmo, "Tintinnabulation ChXss" with Feu St-Antoine, and "A Venus Flytrap in the Circus Lodge", a collaboration with Heith for his EP "The Liars Tell..." on PAN. Orchestroll has also been touring Europe and the UK, showcasing their new music sound at various venues and galleries, including Spanners, Numeroventi, and C3 Milano, further establishing their presence in the avant-garde music landscape. They also premiered their new live AV show at MUTEK’s 25th anniversary.
